Veguary
Veguary is a FREE month-long celebration
encouraging people to try vegan living during the month of February. This campaign takes place during Black History Month in the United States to highlight the contributions of Black vegan trailblazers while sharing the many benefits of vegan living in our communities.
Earth Month
In April, the Afro-Vegan Society commemorates Earth Month by leading a series of discussions on the impacts of environmental injustice and the climate crisis in marginalized communities. This includes hosting panels, interviews, informative articles, and educational workshops. This essential work aims to educate our community about why and how we should confront the institutions perpetuating these inequalities, while promoting eco-conscious practices like veganism and plant-based diets.
Dump Dairy
Workshop Series
Our Dump Dairy Workshop originated as an in-person educational initiative held at Thrive Baltimore Community Center located in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, as a part of our Dairy-Free Future campaign, Dump Dairy has transformed into an annual, month-long online event that occurs every June. Coinciding with "National Anti-Dairy Month," the primary goal of our Dump Dairy series is to enlighten our community on the adverse health and environmental effects that dairy production and dairy consumption have on humans and animals alike. Through our recipes, workshops, interviews, and cooking demonstrations, we showcase just how easy and enjoyable dairy-free living can be!
Our Vegan Guides
More Resources We Love
Black Vegans Rock is a digital space that seeks to spotlight everyday Black vegans who are looking to get their work, art, music, restaurant, book or other projects in front of other vegans. We seek to specifically cater to Black vegans considering we are regularly excluded or erased from mainstream spaces that deal with animal rights, food justice, feminism, and anti-racism.
