activist portal
Afro-Vegan Society is committed to creating dynamic resources to support Black vegan activists. After the success of our pilot Black Vegan Activist Training Program, we recognized that it was critical to scale our offerings in order to reach even more emerging vegan changemakers throughout our communities. For this reason, we are excited to launch the Black Vegan Activist Digital Training Portal, an online learning community designed to support Black Vegan Activists at all stages in their journey, who are committed to creating more just plant-based food systems in marginalized communities.
Are You a Black Vegan Activist?
We created our Black Vegan Activist Survey to learn more about the work activists in our communities are currently doing, the emerging areas where this work is spreading, and the additional resources that are needed to support your ongoing work. We want to hear from you!
Fall 2022 Cohort
About the Program
In 2022, Afro-Vegan Society began planning the first ever Black Vegan Activist Training program. We had over 50 applicants from across the United States, Brazil, Canada and West Africa. This October, Afro-Vegan Society welcomed a cohort of 12 enthusiastic participants from communities across North America from a wide variety of disciplines and walks of life. We administered our 5 week training program featuring live lessons, weekly assignments, a robust resource library, and activist initiative pitches from our participants.
