Fresh cranberries, orange zest, and warm spices come together in a tangy-sweet blend that complements any main dish. It’s quick to prepare, vibrant on the plate, and bursting with holiday cheer.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries

  • 1 medium orange, zested and juiced

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 inch thumb ginger

  • 1 tsp cloves

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • Pinch of salt


Preparation

  1.  Rinse the cranberries and pick out any stems or bad berries.

  2. In a saucepan, add cranberries, orange juice and zest, sugar, cinnamon, ground ginger, and salt.

  3. Stick cloves into fresh ginger then add to the pot.

  4. Stir and bring to a boil then turn down to simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool.

  6. Before serving, taste the relish, remove the fresh ginger and adjust the sweetness or tartness to your preference by adding more sugar or orange juice if needed.
